Career Technical Education (CTE) Exploration

Introducing Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway exploration at the middle school level gives students an early advantage as they begin thinking about their future. Through hands-on learning experiences, interest assessments, and career-connected projects, students are exposed to a variety of career clusters, helping them discover what excites them and where their strengths may lie. This early glimpse into CTE pathways allows students to better understand the options available to them in high school—such as fields like Artificial Intelligence, Health Sciences, or Performing Arts—so they can make more informed decisions when it’s time to select their courses. By connecting classroom learning to real-world careers, middle school CTE exploration builds self-awareness, sparks curiosity, and lays a strong foundation for success in high school programs and future post-secondary opportunities.
